The right fit

Custom build or off-the-shelf software?

The honest answer: in most cases, existing software is enough — and costs far less. Custom development is worth it when your business falls outside the standard mould. Better to say so upfront.

Logesco is probably enough if…

  • You sell products, with inventory to track and a cash register to run.
  • Your invoices need to comply with VAT rules.
  • You want to start this week, not in several months.
  • You would rather pay monthly than invest upfront.
See what Logesco does

A custom build makes sense if…

  • Your business follows rules no off-the-shelf product covers: unusual pricing, manufacturing, regulated traceability.
  • You need tools you already use to talk to each other.
  • Your teams work in the field and need a mobile app.
  • Your multi-site setup goes beyond what standard offerings anticipate.

What we have already built

Logesco is our own product. It is also the most direct demonstration of what we can do, because you can download it and judge for yourself.

  • A Windows application that works without an Internet connection.
  • Eleven business modules: sales, inventory, cash register, customers, suppliers, reports and more.
  • Multi-workstation operation over a local network, with no dependency on a remote server.
  • VAT-compliant invoicing.
  • Licence key activation, with no permanent re-authentication.
  • Installation, training and support delivered on site.

Cameroonian businesses use it daily — networks and telecommunications, an automotive workshop, vehicle importing. Read their feedback.

On the ground

Building for Cameroon is not building for Europe

Software designed elsewhere takes for granted things that are not true in Douala. These are the constraints we build in from the start, rather than discovering them at go-live.

The connection drops

An application that demands constant Internet becomes unusable every other day. We design offline first: the tool works without a network, and syncs when it returns.

The power cuts out

An outage mid-entry must not corrupt data or cost a day of work. That is settled in the architecture, not patched afterwards.

The hardware varies widely

Many workstations run on modest machines. An application that demands recent hardware effectively shuts out some of your users.

Payment methods are local

Cash, mobile money, bank transfer: the card is not the default. Payments are modelled on how you actually collect, not on another market’s habits.

Compliance is local

Commercial documents must meet Cameroonian VAT requirements. That is a design constraint, not an end-of-project option.

Support has to be reachable

A vendor six time zones away will not fix a jammed register on a Saturday morning. We are in Douala, reachable by phone and WhatsApp.

Budget

What does a custom project cost?

We do not publish a price list, for a simple reason: two projects that look alike on paper can differ fivefold once the real scope is set. Quoting a figure before understanding the need would serve nobody.

What drives the budget

  • Functional scope: how many business processes must be covered.
  • The number of user profiles and business rules to respect.
  • Migrating your existing data.
  • Integrations with tools already in place.
  • Whether a mobile app is needed alongside the desktop application.
  • The level of support you want after delivery.

How we work

A first conversation to pin down the need and check that a custom build really is the right answer. Then a written quote setting out scope, deliverables and schedule. You know what you are buying before the first line of code is written.

Frequently asked questions

Can you adapt Logesco instead of starting from scratch?
Yes, and it is often the shortest path. If Logesco already covers most of your activity and only a few rules specific to your trade are missing, building on what exists costs considerably less than a full development. We look at that option first.
How long does a custom project take?
It depends entirely on scope. The schedule is set in the quote, once scoping is complete: we do not commit to a date before defining precisely what has to be built. Development proceeds through regular deliveries, so you validate progress as it happens rather than discovering the result at the end.
Can you migrate our existing data?
It is covered during scoping. We already do this when installing Logesco, where customers almost always arrive with Excel files and handwritten notebooks. The principle is the same on a custom project: you start with your catalogue and your customers in place, not with an empty database.
Do you also build mobile applications?
Yes, on Android and iOS, either alongside a desktop application or on their own. The typical case is teams working away from the office: delivery, stocktaking, taking orders at the customer’s premises.
Is an Internet connection required?
No, and it is a decision to make together at the design stage. We know how to build applications that work offline and sync afterwards — that is exactly what Logesco does. If your business cannot tolerate interruption, that is the option to take.
What happens after delivery?
Maintenance and support are part of what we offer: monitoring, updates, fixes and further development. The terms are set out in the quote, so you know in advance what is covered and what is not.
